BOREAL LASER
WHAT WE DO
Boreal Laser develops and manufactures an Enhanced Sensing Element that very accurately and reliably measures gas concentrations in variety of Industrial Hazardous Area Applications.
Our series of GasFinder Instruments and Measurement Heads use a Laser Based Gas Detection principle called Tunable Diode Laser Absorption Spectroscopy (TDLAS) to Analyze, Monitor, Measure, and Detect gaseous molecules of a specific target gas for applications either “Inside or Outside of the Pipe” (e.g. Leak Detection or In-Situ Analytical Measurements).
This particular technology is ideal for detecting or monitoring for a number of different Toxic, Combustible, Hazardous, or Greenhouse Gases. The most popular gases include: Hydrogen Sulfide/Sulphide (H2S), Ammonia (NH3), Hydrogen Fluoride (HF), Methane (CH4), Carbon Monoxide (CO), Carbon Dioxide (CO2), Hydrogen Chloride (HCl), Hydrogen Cyanide (HCN), Ethylene (C2H4), and Oxygen (O2).
Boreal Laser products are widely adopted in 48 countries in industrial applications primarily for its Quantitative Performance in Difficult Applications, Fail-Safe Design, and Maintenance Friendly Operation.
Our products are promoted, quoted, sold, commissioned and supported by Regionally Focused Technical Sales Organizations that specialize often in both Analytical and Detection solutions. Our Distributors can proudly be found here.
Fixed Leak Detection
Detecting Gas “Outside of the Pipe”:
There are a number of Measurement Heads available for use with our line of GasFinder3 Analyzer Products:
- Open Path (OPX) Head: When combined with one of the GasFinder3 Analyzers, it creates an Open-Path Gas Detector used in Industrial Leak Detection or Ambient Monitoring Applications.
- Remote Point (RPX) Probe: When combined with one of the GasFinder3 Analyzers, it creates a Fixed-Point Gas Detection measurement for applications that require fast speed of response or immunity to poisoning/fouling.
For our Laser Based – Gas Detection/Analytical Products, there for variety of industrial applications:
- Leak Detection/Safety Monitoring: Performance requirements are focused on alarm signaling for such purposes as Safety Warning and Executive Action.
- Industrial Health & Hygiene Monitoring: Focused on the uncertainty of measurement of gas concentrations in the region of Occupational Exposure Limit Values (OELV).
- Leak Detection & Repair (LDAR): Passive Monitoring for incipient fugitive emissions provides operations with another Process Variable (PV) that could provide them with early warning of an abnormal process condition that could require intervention.
- Ambient Monitoring: Quantitative monitoring of specific constituents for compliance purposes.
In-Situ and Extractive Analysis
Monitoring gas concentrations “within the pipe”
There are a number of Measurement Heads available for use with our line of GasFinder3 Analyzer Products:
- Stack/Duct (SDX) Probe: When combined with one of the GasFinder3 Analyzers, it creates a direct and non-contact measurement within a stack or duct for quantitative or feedback control applications.
- Insertable (IPX) Probe: When combined with one of the GasFinder3 Analyzers, it creates a direct and non-contact measurement within a stack, duct, tank, or enclosure for quantitative or feedback control applications.
- In-Line (ILX) Probe: When combined with one of the GasFinder3 Analyzers, it creates a direct and non-contact measurement directly in the piped process for quantitative or feedback control applications.
- Extractive Measurement (EMX) Cell: When combined with one of the GasFinder3 Analyzers, it creates a direct and non-contact extractive measurement for quantitative or feedback control applications.
For our Laser Based – In-Situ/Extractive Measurement options, there for variety of industrial applications:
- Process Monitoring & Control: These measurements are centered around relative rates of change and the Process Variable generated here can used used in either a Feed-Forward or Feedback Control Loop.
- Environmental Monitoring: Quantitative monitoring of specific constituents for compliance purposes.
